• 4 or 5 high school classes

Dual Credit Academic Expectations• Academic expectations will increase
• Final semester grades
derive mostly from 2-3 exams and a final exam.
• 3 credit hours (1 course)= 3 hours in classroom per week= 6 to 9 hours study time per week

National Honor Society
• Requirements
• 4.5 GPA on a 6.0 scale (high school and college courses)
• Students invited during spring semester of 10th grade
• Can not have ISS or severe disciplinary referral in fall of 10th grade
• Membership fee
• Once accepted into NHS, must adhere to the same eligibility requirements and be an active member of NHS.
• 20 hours per semester of service is required while an NHS member
Superintendent's Scholars
• Requirements
• Must earn a grade of at least 95 in all courses, each semester, in which the student is enrolled (85 in PreAP, AP, Dual credit)
• Not have been assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS) or AEP or removed from school for disciplinary reasons during the period in which the academic honor is earned.
• Superintendent's Scholars are recognized in the spring semester.
San Jacinto College Honors• Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)
• Must have completed 12 college credits
• 3.5 grade point average
• Qualified students will receive an invitation
• Honors Program
• Complete an Honors Application
• Academic history used as an indicator for acceptance
• Graduate with an Honors certificate from San Jac
GPA and Rank
• 5.0 weighted GPA
• All Clear Horizons courses are Level I GPA
• GPA includes San Jac courses
• GPA chart can be found in CCISD’s Educational and Planning Guide.
• The 6 semester GPA, used for college admissions, is calculated at the end of junior year.
• 9th grade counts!
• *GPA does not include grades from summer school courses, correspondence courses, intermediate school grades.
