A Month Before Arrival to the Nursery

• Welcome message from the Nursery with important items for the First day will come to your email:

• The items are: Formula/Breastmilk Bottles(2) Pacifer Pampers/Wipes/Baby Ointment Fitted Crib Sheet Clothes (4) Bibs (4) Burp Cloths(4) Washclothes

Formula/Breast milk

Formula should be pre-dispensed or pre-made for the dayBreast milk can either come in glass or storage bags for the day

Drop Off

• Drop off for the first day is the hardest day. We at Shugah Baybees respect the emotions that parents have so, we have designed a system coupled to each family.

• Shugah Baybees Nursery Manager will listen to your system and help with the transition.

• Please understand that we do have a system as well and will implement it once the baby transitions in with the nursery.

What we do in the Nursery

• At 3 months entering the Nursery we go by the schedule the family has created

• At about 5 months going into 6 months the schedule may have changed and solid foods may begin to be offered

• At about 8 months babies finger foods may begin to be offered and we assist baby as they eat

• At 9-12 months a babies schedule has totally adapted to a new schedule and a new routine

NURSERY CURRICULUM

Our Objective

• The Nursery Curriculum is designed to allow baby to reach their milestones at there own pace with no adult interruption. This means we provide all educational means and allow baby to explore safely with positive reinforcement.

PLAY TIME 3-6 MONTHS

• TUMMY TIME, SITTING UP STRAIGHT TIME, SCOOTING TIME, CRAWLING TIME, WALKING AND EXPLORING TIME

• NURSERY SONGS FOLLOWED BY NURSERY MUSIC• BABY SIGNING STARTS AT 5 MONTHS• TOODLER MILESTONE ACTIVITES• BABY SOOTING WALKS• BACKYARD PLAY• PLAYGROUND FUN (12MONTHS AND UP)• REPEATATION OF BABYS NAME AND GREETING WORDS• *ALL ACTIVITIES ARE GENTLY GUIDED FOR SAFETY *

NAPPING IN THE NURSERY

SAFE SLEEP IS REQUIRED BY LAW IN DAYCARE’S

When baby arrives to Shugah Baybess families are to submit the current nap schedule.If baby is not on a nap schedule we have designed a non intrusive sleep schedule for families to follow for home and daycare.

Types of Napping are: • Swaddling• Bare cribbing (empty pack n play

without blanket)• Sleep pack

*Most naps are done with white noise or a calming melody like water or whale sounds*

PRE-TODDLER/TOODLER NAPPING

PRE-TOODLER NAPSONE THING WE AT SHUGAH BAYBESS KNOW EVERY PRE-TOODLER STILL NEEDS TO NAP.MOVING FROM TWO NAPS TO ONE IS THE TOUGHEST CHOICE OR DECISION TO MAKE.

A quite space for our Shugah Baybees to get shut eye is a key component throughout the daycare

Helping to keep your child on a schedule is an important piece of the puzzle. We do not over sleep a child in a nursery nor do we force a nap

but, we do guide a child into a schedule nap.

INFANT FEEDING

FORMULA/BREASTFEEDING

• ALL MILK REGARDLESS OF TYPE WILL BE WARMED AT THE PROPER TEMPERATURE FOR FEEDINGS

• BABIES ARE IN A PROPER FEEDING POSITION AND BURPED ACCORDINGLY

• IF THERE ARE FEEDING ISSUES DURING A FEEDING WE ALWAYS INFORM PARENTS

PRE-TODDLER/TODDLER FEEDING

SOILDS, FINGER FOODS AND INDEPENDENCE

• THESE THREE ELEMENTS ARE A TODDLERS WAY TO BEGIN THEIR JOURNEY INTO BEING A BIG KID

• WE AT SHUGAH BAYBEES HELP CHILDREN UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF TABLE MANNERS EVEN IN THE HIGH CHAIR

• OUR CHILDREN BEGIN TABLE MANNERS AT 14 MONTHS SOMETIMES SOON OR LATER DEPENDING ON THE CHILD

• WE ARE VERY GENTLE AND MEET CHILDREN WHERE THEY ARE FOR THIS PROCESS

KEEPING FAMILIES AWARE AND INVOLVED

• DURING THE DAY WE SEND UPDATES VIA TEXT ABOUT FEEDINGS, NAPPINGS, AND ANY CONCERNS

• IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY WE WILL CALL EMERGENCY CONTACT AND FOLLOW ALL EMEREGENCY POLICIES

• PHOTOS ARE SENT THROUGH THE DAY AS WELL TO SHOW ALL NEW THINGS YOUR CHILD IS DOING

Pick-up

IT’S TIME TO PICK-UP YOUR BABY

• THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO FOLLOW UP WITH THE NURSERY CAREGIVER ABOUT YOUR BABIES DAY

• YOUR BABY WILL BE CHANGED AND CLEAN WITH ALL THE FEEDING OR SOILED ITEMS TO TAKE HOME

• ANY NEWS OR ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU DURING THIS TIME
