Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants MUST:
Have degree-seeking status at a U.S. accredited institution Includes students of all majors at associate, baccalaureate, graduate, &
professional degree programs
Does not include certificate programs
Recent graduates: Spring 2013 graduates are eligible for the Summer 2013 internship session; no other recent graduates are eligible
Complete freshman year before the internship begins
Have a 3.0 GPA
Be authorized to work in the United States Must be able to complete federal I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form

Go to www.HACU.net/HNIP
Fill out an online application, which includes
a personal essay, enrollment certification, and official transcripts
Save and Submit
Your enrollment certification must state your enrollment in a degree
program, your expected graduation date, and your class standing
Notification Process
HACU staff screen applicants for eligibility; staff may also match applicants to internship postings using agency criterions (i.e. major,
GPA, class standing, location).
Agency supervisors review applications for suitability; may call applicant for a phone
interview or to begin a security clearance.
HACU staff call applicants to make the official internship offer. Applicants have 48
hours to accept or decline. HACU staff make travel & housing arrangements as needed.
