What is International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme

(IB- MYP) ? The MYP is:

• for students aged 11 to 16

• a framework of academic challenge

• 8 subject groups, plus personal project in the final year.

• At CMS kids choose French or Spanish

• taught in any language

• Includes a community service requirement

What we cover in this class • Whole Numbers and Decimals • Patterns and Algebraic Representations • Fractions and Fraction Operations • Ratios, Proportions, and Percents • Graphing • Geometry • Measurement • Probability • Integer Operations • Equations • Personal Financial Literacy

My grading and homework policy Homework and

• Written work, observation, tests, electronic response, etc.

• At least two quizzes and two major tests each six weeks

• Homework 1 to 5 times per week

• Homework is not optional

• Journals used for homework help

• Late work accepted with grade penalty

• Tutorials by arrangement 3:45 – 4:15
