A conjunction is a word that joins words or groups of words together.Remember: FANBOYS
For – used mainly as a prepositionEx: Juliet is sad, for she wants Romeo.
And – most used conjunction. Used to add information together.Ex: My bike is blue and read.I like to eat pizza, and my sister likes to ride her bike.
Nor – used in place of “or: with “neither”. Ex: The weather is neither hot nor cold.
But – used to note a difference.Ex: Wendy lost the games, but she is still happy.
Or – used to suggest a choice. Sometimes used with “either”Ex: Do you want chocolate or vanilla?
Yet – often used to replace “but” but not always.Ex: Wendy lost the game, yet she played well.
So – used to give a reason for doing what has just been mentioned.Ex: Hold on tightly, so you don’t fall.
