❖We sometimes forget why we love God

R e v e l a t i o n 2 : 4

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works

We sometimes tend to

forget why we fell in love

❖ Stop praying!

• We sometimes forget why

we love God

P s a l m 4 6 : 1 0

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be

exalted in the earth!

E c c l e s i a s t e s 5 : 1 - 2

Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear

rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.

E c c l e s i a s t e s 5 : 1 - 2

Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily

before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words

be few.

It is important to stop life for a while

and spend time with the ones you love.

Before you jump into prayer, pause for a

few moments and remember who you

are talking to.

Do you talk to God, or at God?

❖ Take time to be reminded of who God

really is

… Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all

His benefits:

Isn’t it a comfort to worship a God who

we cannot exaggerate!

R e v e l a t i o n 4

After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the

first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you

things which must take place after this."

R e v e l a t i o n 4

Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow

around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

R e v e l a t i o n 4

Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw

twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of

gold on their heads.

R e v e l a t i o n 4

And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices.

Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Before the throne there was a sea

of glass, like crystal.

R e v e l a t i o n 4

And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in

back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was

like a flying eagle.

R e v e l a t i o n 4

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and

within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to

come!"

R e v e l a t i o n 4

Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

R e v e l a t i o n 4

the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

"You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created

all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and

lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he

covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

I s a i a h 6

And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was

filled with smoke.

I s a i a h 6

So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And

I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the

King, The Lord of hosts."

I s a i a h 4 6

Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am

God, and there is none like Me,

P s a l m 1 9 : 1

…The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

P s a l m 3 3 : 8

Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of

Him.

R o m a n s 8 : 3 1 - 3 9

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He

not with Him also freely give us all things?

R o m a n s 8 : 3 1 - 3 9

Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is

even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

R o m a n s 8 : 3 1 - 3 9

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or

persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

R o m a n s 8 : 3 1 - 3 9

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

R o m a n s 8 : 3 1 - 3 9

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to

come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to

separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

M a t t h e w 6 : 3 3

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things

shall be added to you.

❖When you consider just how great God

is, be prepared to be reminded of just

how insignificant you are

• We sometimes forget why

we love God

• Stop praying

• Take time to be reminded of

who God really is

We must come to God, ask for

forgiveness through Jesus and ask Jesus

to be our Savior and Lord

What aspects of your priorities,

thoughts and actions declare that you

exist for God’s service and glory?

Which aspects of your life declare that

God exists for your benefit and

service?

We all need Jesus!

To know Jesus and to make Him known while living, loving and

serving like Him

For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might

win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;

1 C o r i n t h i a n s 9

to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I

became as weak, that I might win the weak.

1 C o r i n t h i a n s 9

I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
