A smile for you!

Smiling is infectious, You catch it like the flu,

When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin, When he smiled I realised, I'd passed it on to him.

I thought about that smile, Then I realised its worth,

A single smile just like mine, Could travel round the earth. So if you feel a smile begin, Don't leave it undetected -

Let's start an epidemic quick And get the world infected!

While Jesus was near the temple in Jerusalem, He watched people put money for the Church into big boxes.

Many rich men put

a lot of money

into the boxes.

A poor widow, a woman whose

husband had died, went to the

boxes and put in two pieces of

money called mites.

It was not very much money, but it was all the money she had.

Jesus saw the widow and told the disciples what she had done.

Jesus said the rich people had given a greater amount of money than she had, but they had more at home.

The widow had no more money at home.

In a way, she had given more to

the Church than all the rich

men, because she had given

all that she had.

We give thanks for the love that we have around us.

We pray that we may always be surrounded by love and kindness.

Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

We give thanks for the opportunity we have every day to learn. We pray that we may always show our thanks to God by trying our best in school and helping others to do their best.

We give thanks for the beautiful world which God has created and filled with enough food for everyone. We pray that we may do all that we can to ensure that none of our sisters and brothers go hungry.

We give thanks for the special gifts, talents and skills we have each been given. We pray that during Lent we may use these talents and Dig Deep inside ourselves in order to be the best we can be.

Dear Friends We all have been given lovely gifts. When you give, give with a loving heart. If you have a job to do, do it really well. If you are helping someone, do it happily. Be real in your love for each other. Do not just pretend to be good. Love and care for each other as good brothers and sisters. Be whole-hearted and enthusiastic in all you do. Be joyful. When things get hard, keep on going. Pray regularly. Share what you have with people in need. Always make people feel welcome. Amen.
