Cannabis Facility Design

Dear Friends,

Interactive Resources was an early entrant into and is a leading provider of comprehensive design services for the cannabis industry. Our firm’s specialization in this sector has deepened with the legalization of recreational marijuana in California, and we are involved in projects for indoor cultivation, dispensaries, and most recently, processing.

We provide architectural and engineering services for all design phases for both new and existing facilities, including project management, planning, programming, retail methodology, interiors, lighting design, graphic design, use permit applications, schematic design, construction drawings and specifications, as well as construction administration services.

We work with multiple oversight agencies and can assist with the complex maze of regulations that cannabis businesses must navigate, from municipal zoning to the California Building Code to community relations for project entitlement. We help you design your project to be cost-effective and energy-efficient, utilizing the collective expertise of our architects, engineers and designers, in conjunction with the best technology available.

This project entails the renovation of an existing office building in Richmond, California that is being converted into a beautiful high-end cannabis dispensary. our goal was to translate our client’s vision to create a warm, modern atmosphere designed with stylish finishes to attract the cannabis consumer and to reflect our client’s brand. The dispensary serves a large number of patients for medicinal use and has listened to their requests for a less clinical environment.

using our experience in retail, we responded with a more welcoming environment that speaks to an elevated experience that reflects the care and attention that both medicinal and recreational clients receive from 7 stars healing.

The cannabis dispensary design included high-end architectural finishes, environmentally-friendly products and warm-wood accents. The dispensary was designed to be a contemporary, comfortable environment with an open-floor layout with modern seating vignettes, several display cases showcasing the many strains of cannabis, and modern industrial chandelier pendant lighting. our services included:

The building’s exterior is designed with insulated metal panels that have an interior finish compliant with usda food grade refrigeration buildings. Temperature control is more accurate and cost effective due to the better insulation.

The secured facility is protected 24/7 by a team of security personnel, passive and active security along with delivery sally ports for each unit at the second floor and key card entry. This new 123,000 sf facility in richmond, California was planned and customized for cannabis growing, packaging and distribution. The project is expected to open late 2019 and will feature three 27,000 sf and one 41,000 sf tenant spaces.

The facility was designed from the ground up and experienced cannabis professionals, architects and engineers contributed to the design process, resulting in spaces that offer several customized two-story model units. multiple systems were considered in the design, including the structural loading for mechanical systems that support truly compliant, large scale, secure, clean and segmented production.

Careful consideration was involved in the planning process to consider rapidly evolving California laws, production control and tracking, levels of licensing, allowed capacity and canopy capacity

blooming organics selected our firm to design its new cannabis retail facility located in pasadena, California. The design challenge was to conceive of a boutique-style dispensary with a clean and sparse retail floor, while presenting cannabis in all its new forms. additional goals were to provide the shop’s clientele with an enjoyable and educational experience without being overwhelming, and to accommodate state law unique to this retail environment.

Consistent brand identity is expressed in the exterior and interior forms, finishes and signage throughout. an abundance of windows provide natural daylighting and create a connection to the neighborhood outside.
