Water exists in three states:

Water is in a gas state at temperatures of over 100ºC

When water is a gas it expands to occupy as much space as possible.

Water is in a liquid state between 1ºC and 99ºC.

When water is in a liquid state it takes the shape of the container.

Water is in a solid state at temperatures below 0ºC.

When water is solid, it expands to occupy more space.

It has bigger volume

When you heat solid water it changes into liquid.

Water melts.

When you heat liquid water it changes into water vapour.

Water evaporates.

When you cool liquid water, it changes into a solid.

Water freezes.

When you cool water vapour, it changes into a liquid.

Water condenses.
