WARMUP GAMESSAFE ZONE TAG
In this game, the hula hoops are placed in various areas of the grid and act as a free tag zone. Players must
only be in the zone for 10 seconds or until someone else enters the zone.Taggers hold a pinnie and when
they tag someone else they drop the pinnie and exchange roles. No tagging the person who tagged you.
WARMUP GAMES
PARTNER PASS AND MOVE
Players are put in partners and must pass the ball to each other while moving to various areas in the grid.
The coach may combine the activity with dribbling by giving a number of dribbles a player must take before
passing to their partner.
WARMUP GAMES
BALL TAG
One player holds a ball and tries to tag the other players. If a player gets tagged he/she gets the ball and
tries to tag the others. Can be played with multiple taggers.
WARMUP GAMESSTEAL THE BALL GAME
Four teams of even players. An extra player may be designated as a full-time ball winner. This player will
steal balls and return them to the middle of the field. The object is to get the balls and dribble one at a time
back to your team’s hula hoop. Once all the balls are gone from the middle, you may steal a ball from an
opponent’s goal, or directly from an opponent dribbling a ball. The team with the most balls in their hula hoop
after the allotted time wins the game. Rules: No guarding one’s own goal. No stealing more than one ball at a
time. No kicking opponents balls out of their goal.
WARMUP GAMESHULA HOOP TAG
Dribblers attempt to pass the hula hoop taggers and cross to the other side of the box. This game can be
done in any large rectangular area. If a dribbler is caught they must change with the hula hoop tagger.
Coaches can also roll plastic or rubber balls at the dribblers (below the knees) When a player is hit below the
knees, he/she must do a small technical task such as ten toe taps to get back in the game.
