Core function of a WMS
The main task of a WMS is a wide-spread support all internal logistics processes. The WMS has to cross the borders be-tween various warehouse types, e. g. manual and automated warehouse areas and integrate all these areas, into a homoge-neous system. According to process quality requirements and throughput, employees receive technical assistance such as RF data terminals or voice terminals to improve working condi-tions and raise productivity and quality. These technological aids are mainly used in picking, but also for goods receipt, replenishment handling, transports and shipping/dispatch. Our software offers a wide support for that purpose.
Whenever standards limit efficiency
The universal use of standards is reasonable and recom-mended for certain processes. This applies especially to simple procedures e. g. in transport handling. Using stand-ards in complex procedures, however, can cause a com-plicated conversion with redundant process steps – which we can eliminate. The component based architecture of the Dematic software supports such adjustments via plug-ins which modify or expand the standard locally.
Perfect calibration with subordinate components
Besides manual warehouse areas which are equipped with Pick-by-Voice, Pick-by-Light or RF data transmission, the Dematic WMS particularly supports automated warehouse systems such as high bay warehouses, automated Miniloads, Dematic Multishuttles and pallet and tote conveyors.
Highlights such as multi-deep storage, handling of equip-ment with several load handling devices or the management of channel storage systems is supported as well. Necessary strategies are developed by teams of mechanicals, controls and IT specialists and guarantee a seamless integration, fast commissioning and high reliability.
Wide standard functionality
Our WMS holds all functions required by a sophisticated system. It supports man-to-good picking as well as goods-to-man picking typically required for automation. Storage and retrieval strategies such as FIFO, LIFO and FEFO are naturally supported as well as batch- and serial number management. Multi-client capability makes this system appropriate for all logistics providers. With the powerful interface mapping to the superimposed host, the greatest possible clarity and easy installation of this data connection is provided.
User-friendly operation concepts
A set of easy-to-use functions allows an intuitive, ergonomic, and efficient operation. Thus a simple adjustment of the user interface allows a customised setup of the work place solution. Screen forms and menu trees are adjustable such that always a clearly arranged working environment is created, showing all necessary information. Furthermore the online language online language switch allows each user to change to his favoured language and user interface at any time.
The Dematic Logistics Cockpit provides a quick overview of the main key performance indicators of your warehouse proces-ses, and helps you to quickly identify emerging problems. You save precious time for problem resolution and can reduce the impact significantly. With the Dematic Mobile App this informa-tion is also available on the move to Smartphones or Tablets.
Help texts in the online help can be customised easily, so that special procedures and process steps can be displayed di-rectly in the online help.
