• Like wall paints, wallpapers are also equipped with an ability to protect the wall... as an

additional décor that can light up the mood in the interior.

WALLPAPER

• Wallpaper is a kind of material used to cover and decorate the interior walls of home/building.

• It is usually sold in rolls & is put onto a wall using wallpaper paste.

• Wallpaper is made in long rolls – 57 sq. ft. (most commonly used size)

• Besides wallpaper have been developed as decorative covering for hat boxes, band boxes, shelves, books and window shades.

INSTALLATION

• Proper surface preparation before application should be done.

• Steam, water, wet areas are not suitable.

• Proper preparation includes:-

• Repair of any defect in any dry wall or plaster.

• Removed of loose material or old adhesive.

• Accurate measurement of a room (l,w,ht) along with no. of opening should be

known before installation.

• Then dry wallpaper in coated with wet paste (CMC powder +fevicol +water).

• Then wet surface is left for few minutes.

REMOVAL• Water

• Simplest removal to brush the paper with water.

• Water soaks the paper & saturates the glue, allowing paper to peel off.

• It does not work with non peelable vinyl's, as vinyl is not porous. Nether less still effective on many modern papers.

• Mixture of 3:1 or 1:1 water & vinegar.

• Chemical Wallpaper Stripper

• Mixed with water & vinegar and then sprayed.

• Steam

• Dissolve wallpaper paste.

• Wallpaper steamer consists of reservoir water , an electrical heating element & a hose to direct the steam at the wallpaper.

• No color fade. • Some wallpapers destroy the wall during

• No dust & pollution. • Joints are seen in some wallpapers.
