DEFINITION
VISUALSAre two-dimensional materials designed
to communicate a message to students. They usually include verbal elements as well as graphic elements.
Visuals components helps to enhance the learning environment.
FUNCTIONS Students often benefit from the visual materials because it tendsto focus their attention on the topic.
Increase effectiveness by highlighting information, which increases viewers’ comprehension and memory
DO’S
Learner use his eyes as well as his ears; but his eyes are basic in learning
VISUALS CAN:
Depict real or abstract items
Illustrate procedures
Provide examples
Identify parts and pieces
Draw attention to similarities and differences among various objects.
Increase efficiency by representing, in a single form, what may take hundreds if not thousands of words to explain
Increase appeal
Using charts
Help in teaching vocabulary
