QUICK OPENING CLOSURE (V100®)
Description
Vista, Inc.’s Clamp Ring Closures are quick-opening closures, easily operated by one person. The closure is designed primarily for horizontal installation, meaning the door swings open on the horizontal axis. However, the closure can be installed on a vertical installation. In the latter case, a counterbalance can be provided to facilitate opening.
Features The Clamp Ring Closures, available in sizes 4-inches and larger, offer important advantages: A reliable seal – The large, cross-sectional diameter Seal located on the periphery of the closure’s barrel collar provides positive sealing as well as protection from damage by tools, pigs or debris. Pressure warning device – The Clamp Ring Closures are equipped with a pressure warning lock, in accordance with UG-35 of ASME Sect. VIII, Div. 1, to alert the operator to the existence of internal pressure prior to opening the closure. Fast, easy, safe operation – One person can easily and quickly open or close the Clamp Ring Closures. Because it operates so easily, this closure is less time-consuming than other closures on
the market. Because an operator must stand to the side when opening the pressure warning lock, clamp ring and
door, the Clamp Ring Closures is safer to open than other closures that require an operator to stand in front of the door. Clamp Ring Closures feature a lever-type actuator on sizes 4- through 30-inches. Sizes 32-inches and larger have a door assist (ratchet binder).Closures smaller than 32-inches at higher pressure also may feature a door assist mechanism.
Representative Uses Tube Turns Hinged Closures are being employed in virtually every industrial field. Some of the more representative uses include:

PIG LAUNCHER & RECEIVER TRAP (V200®)
PIG TRAP DESCRIPTION Pipeline production and maintenance
operations include the practice of
inserting a mechanical plug (pig) or
inflatable ball (sphere) into the pipeline line and allowing the production fluid to
drive it from one end to the other.
The Pig Trap is the equipment purposely
designed for performing this job.
It is basically consisting of:
a main body or "barrel", for pig storing;
a quick opening closure (QOC) for
inserting or removing the pigs,
manually or motor operated
(electric, hydraulic or pneumatic);
a tube end, for connecting the trap
to the pipeline;
fluid by-pass nozzle, for pig motion
control; minor fitting nozzles, for pressure
and temperature gauges, safety
valves, drains, vents, etc.;
saddles or equivalent supports.
Pig operations are generally carried out
for the purpose of:
Removing hydrotest water and
debris accumulated within the
pipeline, particularly during its pre-
commissioning, by using "gauging" pigs;
Cleaning the internal surface of the
pipeline, for the removal of the
deposited oil wax, by using
"cleaning" pig or spheres;
Separating two fluids, according to
production requirements by using
"separation" pigs;
Inspecting the conditions of the line pipes, by using special inspection
vehicles.
Traps are generally installed at the
opposite ends of the pipeline, but they
may be also mounted at intermediate
stations, depending on service
requirements.
Trap Size Range Our common manufacturing range of pig traps spans from 4" to 64" line diameters,
but traps of larger sizes can be designed
and manufactured by FILTERS.
Pressure range, from ANSI 150 to ANSI
2500. Any value of diameter, pressure and
temperature can be calculated by our
designers, in order to define the most
appropriate barrel thickness. The barrel
length is affected by the trap type (launching or receiving), by the pig type
(ordinary, sphere, or inspection vehicle)
and by the required launching sequence
(single or multiple).
Design Codes Our pig traps are usually designed in
accordance with the following
internationally recognized codes:
ASME VIII DIV.1&2
ASME/ANSI B31.4, 31.8, 31.3, for
liquid and gas piping systems.
We are however in a position to meet the
requirements of any National Code or
specification the customer may require.
VISTA
Industrial Group Pipeline Equipment
Pig Handling System On major line diameters, where the weight of the pig makes handling difficult, some mechanical devices can be used to carry out loading and unloading operations more easily and quickly. The most complete FILTERS system designed for this job includes: A Travelling Trolley for
extracting and inserting the pig supporting cradle into and out of the trap, complete with runways and control winch.
A Removable Bar to be mounted on the trolley head for pushing the pig along the cradle.
A rotating Jib Crane, for lifting, positioning and lowering the pig outside the trap.
The system can be either hand operated or motor controlled (electric, hydraulic or pneumatic powered).

and receiving operations. Regarding the position of their installation, traps can be: Horizontal The Trap is resting on saddles of equal height. It is the most used type, particularly where heavy pigs are to be handled. Vertical The trap is resting on circumferential supports. This type is often used where the trap installation area is limited, particularly on offshore platforms.
SLOPED The trap is resting on saddles of different height. Sloped traps are generally used for sphere operation, in order to use the gravity for rolling the spheres along the trap barrel.
PIG LAUNCHER AND RECEIVER DIMENSIONS FOR GAS PIPELINE
Pig Passage Indicator or Pig Signaler The purpose of the passage indicator is to detect the passage of pigs inside the pipeline. Our Pig Signaller consists basically of: a supporting bush, to be welded on the line
pipe; a threaded or flanged sleeve, to be mounted
on the supporting bush, including a sliding domed plunger and a suitable lever system,
a counter weighted warning flag.

FILTER SEPARATOR (V300®)
Description
Vista Gas Liquid Filter Separators are a two-stage design construction for the removal of both solid particles and liquid droplets, or liquid droplets only.
The contaminated gas enters the first section and passes through the filter elements.
Separation of the liquid particles occurs in the same manner inside the Glass Fiber Media. But the media is treated so that the liquid particles do not wet the fibers but coalesce into large droplets, from 100 to 200 times their original size, due to their surface attraction for each other:
The gas flowing through the filter media causes the larger droplets to emerge into the center core of the glass fiber elements and to be carried out to the liquid stripper section. Here a Vane Mist Extractor removes coalesced liquid droplets, which are stripped out and drained into the sump vessel for subsequent recovery. Liquid carry-over is totally prevented and separating efficiency of 99,99% on one-micron size droplets is easily achieved.
The pressure loss on the entire operation is extremely low and depends on operating conditions and by the type of filter elements used.
Vista Gas Liquid Filter Separators are manufactured either in a vertical shell, or in horizontal shell, with flange or quick opening closure to facilitate the access to the filter.
Performance Features Vista Filter Separators provide economical, effective, highly efficient removal of solid and liquid particles from gas streams. This helps protect valuable mechanical equipment and optimize the efficiency of processes.
Typical Applications Gas distribution systems
Compressor stations
Pipelines
Metering and regulation stations
