VISIONSFUNDRAISINGGUIDELINESVisionsGlobalEmpowermentisanorganizationthatreliesonthegenerosityofourprivatedonorsasourmainsourceofincome.Assuch,weareverygratefultoallwhosupportusinourmanyeffortsandencouragesuchsupport.However,thereareimportantguidelinesthatmustbeadheredtoinorderforVisionstomeetitslegalandfiscalresponsibilities.Visionswishestomakethefollowingdisclaimer:

*VisionsGlobalEmpowerment(“Visions”),includingallsubsequentdomesticandinternationalchapters,reservestherighttodoabackgroundcheckonanyandalldonorstotheorganization(betheyindividual,corporate,organizational,foundation,orother)andrefuseanydonationforanyreasonitdeemsappropriate.

Visionsencouragesyoursupportandenthusiasmincoordinatingandimplementingfundraisingeventsonourbehalforforspecificprojectssponsoredbyourorganization.GivenourlimitedcapacitytobedirectlyinvolvedinanyeventorfundraiserdoneonbehalfofVisions,wehaveoutlinedtwotypesofsupportthatVisionsisabletogiveinordertomeettheparticularneedsofyourfundraisingevent.Thesearean“officialsponsorship”anda“beneficiary/recipientagreement”.1.OFFICIALSPONSORSHIP:Underanofficialsponsorship,Visionsagreestoserveas“officialsponsor”oftheevent.Forallagreementsofthisnature,thefollowingguidelinesapply:

1.Allpartiesinvolvedagreetokeepthiseventstrictlynon‐politicalandfocusedonthehumanitarianneedsofthepeopleaffected.Nopoliticalspeech,symbols,literature,orotherpolitically‐motivatedavenuesmaybeusedatthisevent.2.Bothpartiesagreethatnospeakersnotontheagendawillbeallowedtospeakattheeventortousetheeventasaforumfortheirownprivatepurposes.Thegeneralcontentandoutlineofallspeeches,presentations,oranyotheroutreachmustbesharedwithandapprovedbyVisionswellinadvance.

a.VisionsagreestosendarepresentativeoftheorganizationtopresentorotherwiserepresentVisionsattheevent,ifrequestedbytheeventorganizerswellinadvance.

3.AllproceedsfromtheeventwillbegiventoVisionstobeusedattheorganization’sdiscretioneithergenerallyorforaspecificproject,asrequestedbytheeventorganizers.4.Visionsreservestherighttoremoveitselfastheofficialcharitablesponsorandbeneficiaryoftheproceedsofthefundraiser,ifanydecisionismadeoractiontakenthatwouldcontradicttheorganization’smission,goals,orgeneralpractices.

5.TheOrganizersagreetoworkcloselywiththeVisionsBoardofDirectorsandstaffinplanningandimplementingthefundraiserinallstages.Bothpartiesagreetokeepeachotherwell‐informedofalleffortsandprogressmade,andagreetomakemutuallyagreedupondecisionsregardingtheevent.6.Visionswillprovidedisplays,banners,brochures,reports,orotherpromotionalmaterialsasrequestedbytheeventorganizers,accordingtothespecificsrequestsoftheparticulareventorganizers.7.Withregardstotaxreceipts,Visionswillprovideataxreceipttothesponsoringorganization,group,orindividualhostingtheevent,ifrequested.Inthecasethatindividualdonorsattheeventwishtoreceiveataxreceipt,itistheresponsibilityoftheeventorganizersthemselvestopreparealistofalldonors,theiraddresses,dateeachdonationwasgiven,typeofeachdonationgiven(check,cash,other),andamountofeachdonation.Pleaseseetheattachedrecordsheetforthecorrectformattobeusedatyourevent.Itisthentheresponsibilityoftheeventorganizerstohandthisinformation,alongwithallcorrespondingchecksorotherdonations,toVisions.

a.Asalreadystipulated,VisionsGlobalEmpowerment(“Visions”),includingallsubsequentdomesticandinternationalchapters,reservestherighttodoabackgroundcheckonanyandalldonorstotheorganization(betheyindividual,corporate,organizational,foundation,orother)andrefuseanydonationforanyreasonitdeemsappropriate.b.Whenanevententrancefeeischarged,notaxreceiptswillbeprovidedformoneycollectedforthispurpose.Taxreceiptswillonlybeprovidedforpuredonationstotheorganization.

8.TheeventorganizersagreetoworkcloselywithVisionsonalllegalandfinancialmattersinordertoprovidecompleteaccountabilityandtransparency,recognizingthattheVisionsisa501(c)(3)nonprofitcharitableorganizationheldtostricttaxaccountinglaws.Completeandaccuratefinancialrecords,includingquotationsandreceiptswhennecessary,willbekeptthroughouttheplanningandimplementationstagesandprovidedbytheeventorganizerstoVisionsuponcompletionoftheevent.

2.BENEFICIARY/RECIPIENTAGREEMENT:Underthistypeofagreement,Visionsdoesnotserveasanofficialsponsorofthefundraisingevent.Rather,eventsofthisnaturearedoneindependentlyofVisions,althoughtheorganizationitselfistheintendedbeneficiary.Forallagreementsofthisnature,thefollowingspecificsapply:

1.Visionscanprovidebrochures,reports,orotherpromotionalmaterialsasrequestedbytheeventorganizers,asallsuchinformationispubliclyavailableonourwebsite(www.VisionsForTheFuture.org).Theactualpresentationanddistributionofthisinformationisuptotheeventorganizersthemselves.

2.Alleventplanning,implementing,andaccountingistheresponsibilityoftheeventorganizers;Visionsassumesnoroleinanyoftheseaspects.

3.Withregardstotaxreceipts,Visionsagreestoprovideataxreceipttothesponsoringorganization,group,orindividualhostingtheevent,ifrequested.Individualtaxreceiptswillnotbeprovided.IfindividualdonorswishtoobtainataxreceiptfromVisionsfortheirdonation,theyshouldsendtheirdonationdirectlytoVisionsormakechecksoutto“Visions”andsubmittotheeventcoordinator.Donationsmaybemailedto:GregBuie(VisionsCFO),1621BarryAve.#PH1,LosAngeles,CA,90025.Onlinedonationsarealsoacceptedviaourwebsite(www.VisionsForTheFuture.org).Forrecurringdonationsanddirectdebit,pleasereferencethe“Donation”sectionofourwebsite.4.Itistheresponsibilityoftheeventorganizerstocollectallchecksanddonations,andhandeverythingovertotheVisionsCFO.

5.TheeventorganizersmaynotclaimVisionsasan“officialsponsor”.Intheeventthatsuchaclaimismadefalsely,writtenclarificationbytheeventorganizersmustbedisseminatedtoalleventattendeesandsupporters.Ifwrittenclarificationisnotgiven,thedonationislikelytoberejectedorreturned.AnyeventspeakerwhospeaksaboutVisionsoritsactivitiesdoessoinanunofficialcapacity.Assuch,Visionsdoesnotacceptresponsibilityforthecontentofanysuchspeechesorpresentations.
