Transcript of Vertical bone apposition around polished implant...

Vertical bone apposition around polished implant neck.

One of the doctrines in conventionaltal dental implantology is, that the rough implant surfaces are more favorable for the bone, and as such, they contribute to the preservation of the marginal bone level

around the implant neck. There were dozens of studies performed,

in order to prove the thesis, that there was substantial bone loss around polished dental implant

surfaces.

This clinical presentation is about substantial vertical bone aposition around the smooth vertical parts of intraosseous basal dental implants.

The clinical reality is, that this is expected consequence from the bilaterally balanced functional stimulus exserted over an elastic

bone-implant system. *

The clinical situation 7 years after the initial treatment. It is observed about 6mm vertical bone apposition over the disk part of the implant in position 37, and substantial bone apposition mesially to the neck of the implant in position 47.
