VEGAN WEEKA campaign to help save the environment and at

the same time your waistline ;)

What does vegan mean? :o

A vegan is a follower of veganism which is abstaining from animal products particularly in diet. :O

But what if I said it could help save the environment? :D

We humans eat about 230m tonnes of animals a year, twice as much as we did 30 years ago. We

mostly breed four species – chickens,

cows, sheep and pigs – all of which need vast amounts of food and water, emit methane

and other greenhouse gases and produce

mountains of physical waste.

FUN FACTS.

• It takes an average of 2,500 gallons of water to produce a single pound of meat. According to Newsweek, "The water that goes into a 1,000 pound steer could float a destroyer." In contrast, it takes only 25 gallons of water to produce one pound of wheat.

FUN FACTS.

• Since so much fossil fuel is needed to produce it, beef could be considered a petroleum product. With factory housing, irrigation, trucking, and refrigeration, as well as petrochemical fertilizer production requiring vast amounts of energy, approximately one gallon of gasoline goes into every pound of grain-fed beef.

FUN FACTS.

•It takes twenty pounds of soybeans to feed to a cow to make one pound of meat. Those same amounts of soybeans could help fed all the starving people of the world.

FUN FACTS

•If more people were vegetarians, people wouldn't raise cattle and pigs that create more waste products, such as carbon dioxide and methane gas!

FUN FACT.

•The protein and all the extra glow foods when eating all that soybean and vegetables will surely keep you blooming, and more fit… Within the budget of course! :D

Soooooo… what are you waiting for?! Try doing a VEGAN week! :O It will surely make you….

AND

THE END! Thank you for listening! :D
