1. The meeting convened at noon in USGIF offices in Herndon, VA.

2. Col Jason Brown, Commander of the Air Force’s 480th ISR Wing, guest speaker, made his remarks on a non-attribution basis.

3. Reviewed and assessed our MLAIWG activities at GEOINT 2018.• See meeting notes for details of discussion.

4. Sub-working group updates:• Kirstie Bellman who leads our ML-AI V&V (topic #5) topic

welcomes MLAIWG members to join the sub-WG.• Peter Morosoff volunteered to pick up the leadership of our

Lexicon sub-WG (topic #6).

ML-AI Workshop, 13-14 Nov 18Venue: NGA Allder Auditorium in Springfield, VA.

Agenda: 2-day (or 2 partial days, depending on content) event, the first day being unclassified and the second day being held at the TS/SCI level.

Proposed topics and themes of interest:

• Simulating training data (to enable training artificial neural networks).

• Preparing data for use in training ML and AI systems.

• How to train and prepare the workforce to work with ML and AI systems.

• Neuromorphic computing.

Topics specifically for the classified session might include:

• Hard problems of interest.

• Ground-breaking projects of interest (could be talks and/or demonstrations).

2019 State & Future of GEOINT Report

USGIF’s annual State and Future of GEOINT Report provides the GEOINT Community an opportunity to assess the current state of the profession and look ahead to the technologies and tradecraft of the future.

USGIF is announcing a State and Future of GEOINT Call for Abstracts.

If you wish to pitch an article for consideration in the 2019 report, please prepare a Word document including:• A proposed article title• An abstract of no more than 1 page• Names, titles, and contact information of at least three authors. Eachwriting team should represent a minimum of three organizations.

Submit abstracts to SFOG@usgif.org no later than Friday, June 29.

Writing teams will be notified no later than July 20 whether their article has been selected to progress to the manuscript phase. If selected, manuscript first drafts will be due September 4.
