Throughout History, there have been many unusual taxes.

In 1696, England taxed houses based on the number of windows they had.

During the middle ages, European Governments placed a tax on soap!

Excise taxes are also called ‘sin taxes’. They are taxes on alcohol, tobacco and

gambling.

In 1705 Russian Emperor Peter the Great

placed a tax on beards !

In 1795England put a tax on the aromatic

powders!

The IRS taxes stolen property!

In Sweden, you can’t keep the name of your child of your own choice

until it has been approved by tax authorities.

In North Carolina, U.S. , you pay $10 tax if you have a dog as a domestic animal.

In France, there are taxes on smartphones and laptops.

In Utah, there is a 10% tax
