United Methodist Church of Le Mars
“Transforming Hearts, Minds, and Lives
by the Gracious Love of Christ”
The story of Moses and the people of Israel is one of the most familiar stories in the Bible. This story has many lessons that can inspire our postmodern Christian Church. As we look forward to starting all our church activities this month, there is one aspect that I found interesting and also inspiring; the passion of Moses to take with him ALL God’s people to the Promised Land. After many trips to Pharaoh’s place to ask for permission to lead God’s people to the Promised Land, the time came that Pharaoh asked, “Moses who are to go with you?” Moses’ answer reflected his passion and love for all God’s people regardless of their age or gender, and even social classes. He said: “We will go with our young and our old; we will go with our sons and daughters and with our flocks and herds, because we have the Lord’s festival to celebrate.” (Exodus 10: 8-9 NRSV). Friends, as we start the month of September, I would like us to be inspired by Moses’ attitude and passion for ALL. As a community of faith, our passion is to care for one another in the Body of Christ and make sure we have all our men and women, children and youth on board. Our strength as the church is based on our connection and participation in the life of the church. I would like to invite you to be part of this journey by participating or getting involved in different activities and ministries of the church such as Bible Study, Prayer Ministry, Children & Youth ministry, UMCL choir, Bell Choir, Children’s Choir, Praise Team, Outreach Ministry, Tech Team, UMW, 2 by 2 Visitations, etc. May the Lord we serve together continue to bless us as we follow Moses’ example to care and journey with ALL toward the Promised Land to celebrate the Festival of the Lord. To God be the glory. In Christ, Pastor Lundula

2018-2019 Youth & Children Ministry
Our Heavenly Father, hear us as we pray
for our Lay Leadership Team as they help
the Church Family to identify their call from
God offering up their leadership gifts and
service. God of wisdom, we give to you our
new school year; all the students, teachers,
and staff. We pray our school would be a
place of great discovery, adventure and
creativity. May it be a place where we love
to learn and where we learn to love. A
place where everyone is respected and all
are deeply valued. Lord, we give you all the
praise and glory. We pray this in Jesus’
name. Amen

The offering for the Ministerial Association was $554.50. Again, thank you for your message of
compassion and all who helped with the service.
