This issue is dedicated to my friend, the late Prof Donavon Marais, who knew of my interest

in trains and provided the original copy of this Select Report for the use of Railway

Historians. He hails from De Aar, a famous South African Railway junction.

A Hub or Nodal Point: South African Railway History and related

historical interests

A friend Bruce Jones, a pensioner like most of our readers, with his science and maths

background has created a “hub or nodal point” called: ZA Police and Railway Hub and has

registered it as: http://www.zapoliceandrailwayhub.com/ When you have time, you are

invited to go and have a look! It is our intention to create some kind of a platform where

“we” – like minded people - can place links to our various interest groups. He also helps

with the technical issues related to THE ULOLWE and The eNONGQAI.

From 14 April 2009 I have a Face Book site called: Foto's SA Spoorweë / Photos SA Railways,

the reference is: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=74709226744

I have found that our South African historical interests scattered and fragmented in cyber

space, the more I do research, the more I find this in other fields as well. If somebody would

like more information please contact Bruce Jones – he is a Scotsman - at the following email:
