Who are UKSEDS?• A group of (mostly) students who are

interested in Space.

• SEDS is the world's largest space enthusiast organisation for both school and university students – we are the UK arm.

• SEDS was founded in the US in 1980. UKSEDS was formed in 1988 and is one of the fastest growing national SEDS groups.

• Currently more than 60 branches worldwide, with ~ 10 branches in the UK

Raison d’être

• We want to promotes the exploration and development of space by:– Educating people about the benefits of space– Supporting a network of interested students– Providing an opportunity for members to

develop their leadership skills– Inspiring people through our involvement in

space-related projects

• SEDS believes in a space-faring civilization and that focussing the enthusiasm of young people is the key to our future in space.

What do we actually do?

• Organise events for our members– Annual Conference– Branch Symposium– Trips (e.g. NSC, IMAX)

• Support Branch events• Email List• Ecliptic/Aurora• Promote other Youth Space Activities

– Yuri’s Night– Space Generation Advisory Council– ESA Outreach– Russia Trip
