TYMPANIC MEMBRANE

Arterial supply

• Outer surface- deep auricular artery, branch from 1st part of maxillary artery

• Inner surface- (A) Ant. Tympanic artery, branch from 1st part of maxillary artery (B) Post. Tympanic artery, branch of stylomastoid artery arising from post. Auricular artery

Nerve supply

• Anterior half of lateral surface-auriculotemporal nerve

• Posterior half of lateral surface- auricular branch of vagus nerve

• Medial surface- tympanic branch of glossopharyngeal through tympanic plexus
