BERTI. CHAMPION PERFORMERSCRUB. GORSE. PASTURE. GENERAL PURPOSE. MULCHERS. MOWERS.
THE BERTI MULCHER HAS 15 YEARS OF PROOF THAT IT’S A CHAMPION PERFORMER IN NEW ZEALAND CONDITIONS. BERTI INCREASES FARM PRODUCTION BY PRODUCING BETTER PASTURE AND BY RETURNING WASTELAND INTO PRODUCTION. THIS STRONG STURDY GOBBLER LET’S NOTHING STAND IN ITS WAY.
Berti tops pasture at high speed leaving a fine mulch and no build up of windrows. All Brown Top, Cocksfoot and other low producing grasses are eliminated to allow high producing grass to rejuvenate. Gorse and scrub are chopped in one pass for a quick return of wasteland into pasture. It’s more effective than spraying and much cheaper.
Berti becomes a multifunctional tool on the farm by reducing
rushes, wiping out thistles to a fine mulch that breaks down
quickly to allow rapid regrowth of pasture and also mulching
of crop residues, gorse, tussocks, broom and matagouri. When
Berti performs it doesn’t just lop off tops it gets to the root of the
problem. If your unlucky enough to be plagued by Kikuyu, both
the Hammer Flail and Y Flail units have been recommended by
the Kaikuyu Action Group.
Berti will withstand severe punishment with its heavy duty RHS
headstock and its double row self aligning bearing on a 60mm
stub shaft, one of the heaviest in the industry. Its high-speed
rotor (2300rpm) has drop forged flail lugs for added strength and
durability.
With the bearings fully embedded in the rotor, this cost effective
machine keeps maintenance costs low by providing maximum
protection from moisture and from dangerous foreign objects such
as wire. It also features a double skin in the mulching chamber for
rigidity and protection of the outer skin.
Berti also features a fully adjustable tailgate, a pre chamber that
creates the venturi effect for more effective cutting, and has the
longest skids of any mulcher on the market providing excellent
ground contour tracking.
Berti will increase your farm
output by delivering
cleaner, superior
pasture all year
round.
BERTI. CHAMPION PERFORMER
BERTI THE TICKET FOR PASTURE MULCHING.Kaitaia contractor Don Lilly has been so happy with his Berti pasture mulcher that he’s never bothered trying any other brands.
“I’ve had five Berti mulchers in total, ranging from 1.8m up to 2.5m,” Don says. “These two are a couple of years old now but I’ve had Berti pasture mulchers over the past five or six years.”
Don says he has stuck with the Berti brand because the mulchers haven’t caused him any trouble.
“As long as you keep them well maintained and greased they just go and go. I haven’t really used anything else.”
“We can do a hectare an hour with topping in a reasonable shaped paddock.”
“These Berti pasture mulchers seem to be about the most robust ones that I’ve seen.”
THE BERTI MULCHER IS NO ORDINARY MULCHER.Take Canterbury farmer Bill Wilson who purchased a Berti TSB 300.
He used it amongst stones and rubble and the Berti doesn’t flinch.
“I can use if for topping paddocks and stones don’t affect it like an ordinary mower; they don’t get thrown against the tractor and it mulches the weeds very well.”
Bill talks with nothing but positive comments for his Berti.
“We had a paddock of Horehound and I used it on that in amongst stones and it’s done a fantastic job.
“It can handle stones without knocking it around and it’s very robust.”
That’s all we use it for and it’s working very well.”

BERTI. TECHNICAL FEATuRES
MULCHER HANDLES BIG TEST.Northland kikuyu mulching “pioneer” Murray Jaggar has worked this grass for 20 years, using a variety of machines. Finally he has settles on a Berti TBM/Super 2m mulcher from Farmgard.
“We got the Berti about five years ago, starting first with a smaller model, then moving to this bigger one.”
Jaggar says Kikuyu severely tests machines because of the sheer volume of material being shifted, and it’s fibrous nature, “especially in the autumn when it loads up”.
“Gorse and scrub are chopped off in one pass – more effective than spray and much cheaper.”
TURNING WASTELAND INTO PASTURE.Kaikoura farmer Nick Seddon has been using Berti mulchers for 10 years to clear 100ha – 120ha of gorse – covered rolling hills on his 1214ha property.
He says he weighed up the options between buying a Berti or spraying the gorse–affected area. He decided on the mulcher because it gave him a better chance of keeping ahead of the growth.
The result has means an increase of production and better pastures for his sheep and cattle on the gorse – affected paddocks.
“We’ve got the pasture back again. The gorse is still there and the grass goes up through the gorse once it’s been mulched, so it’s good cattle food as opposed to having nine-foot high gorse bushes everywhere.”
“With the first one I had, I was cutting some pretty tall stuff that was higher than the tractor.”
While he doesn’t have to cut really heavy gorse anymore, Seddon believes that the machine would do the job and recommends it to any farmer that needs to clear non – productive land and return it to pasture.
