The basics:Location:

Lower and central America, Africa, and Southeast AsiaIt is located between the tropic of Capricorn and the tropic of CancerBorders the savannah and temperate forest biomes.The rainforest is home to over 50 percent of the worlds animals.

Plants:Have large leaves for maximum

sunlight absorption

Shed water so branches do not break:

• Oily coating• Drip tips• Grooved leaves

Some plants’ leaves turn with the movement of the sun

It starts off as a small shrub that grows on the forest floor, and as it grows, it attaches itself to smaller saplings and strangles it as it ages.

RafflesiaThe Rafflesia Flower:

• Largest in the world

• Many species are endangered.

• Has no stems or roots

• Can only be found in Southeast Asia

• Has a foul odor.

Birds beaks are different depending on what they eat.

Diets that are fruit oriented

Camouflage and slowness help the sloth evade predators.

rainforest.
