Tragedy In Dallas•By the fall of 1963 JFK was losing
popularity because of his strong stance on Civil Rights
•November 22, 1963 JFK went to Dallas to mend fences with the state’s democratic party. He was greeted with applause and large crowds on the sunny fall morning.

• As they drove by the Texas Schoolbook Depository Building – Kennedy was shot in the head
• The “window of the world” TV, kept America tuned in to what would happen next
~ Lee Harvey Oswald being arrested because of a fingerprint on the rifle~ Jack Ruby, a night club owner kill
Oswald during the televised jail transfer~ The funeral, as the country took the day off to mourn~ LBJ being sworn in on Air Force One
Warren Commission• Looked at all of the evidence to see if
Oswald had acted alone• By 1979, the case reopened and it
was stated that he was part of a conspiracy
• Many theories = Anti-Castro Cubans, Communist sponsored attack, The CIA
• Still a fascination because of missing facts, lack of evidence, the cover ups, & distrust of the government.
