DESCRIPTION OF THE CLASS:The history of the Baptists is a search each recent saved as well as learned Missionary Baptists should be involved with every day of life. The pursuit of the information in the Bible should be soul felt and a desire burning to understand where Baptists get their name. The efforts by past members loosing life given by God through the centuries to hold to “The Way” should cause a real heart felt desire to provide the Lords “Way of Salvation” when ever and wherever possible to a person. To “Teach Them”, one of the foremost directions given to the Lords church’s in the “Church Age”.

CLASS RATIONALE:This study establishes a review of periods of time that show clearly through the “Eyes of Faith” the history of those Jesus Christ believers who followed him and his original church. The student will be acquainted with bible history and information as it relates to “Baptists” succession down through the ages. Through the process of looking at each century the student will proceed through a study of the history of the World Church’s side by side with the history of Baptists Church’s brought down through the ages.

CLASS OBJECTIVES:As a result of successful completion of this module, instruction will:1. Stimulate students' understanding of Baptists history. Identify distintitive marks.2. Develop students' abilities to trace Baptist history through the use study materials.3. Identify names and places, doctrinal issues and irregularities.4. Provide students/members with a background to “Defend the Faith” and to “Stand” for “The Way” until the return of our Savior in the air.5. Elicit in students a sense of obligation and personal responsibility for their decisions, actions (or inactions), and participation in presenting information related to the “Saving Grace” and those under the power of Jesus Christ.6. Review how this hits into the “Kingdom and the Bride of Christ? These objectives will be gained through an examination of the following:1. Review Baptist history information through the centuries.2. Review of certain related readings and searches through the ages and study of certain differences between the religions in a church setting.3. Garner discussions from old and new church members and answer “Why” the only Church where “Jesus Christ” meets with his people. 3. Role playing different issues and sides of the issues through use of group discussion approach.4. Open discussion of current Baptist issues or topics in relation to concerns about Baptist in today's world. TEACHER:Stephen P.
