Biography

Began reading at the age of 10 and he was on street selling a

newspaper.

He leaved the school at the age of 14.

Began writing at the age of 17.

Worked at many hard jobs

He worked as a sail man on a ship.

at the age of 24 he admitted to the University of California at same time, he start writing and published his works.

Famous Works

Wrote 50 books :novels , short stories ,essays ,but most of them

are fictions.

First book “The Son of the Wolfe” published in 1900

His best works are Alaskan stories: "Call of the Wild"

Autobiographical novels: "The Road”

Philosophic work “The Sea Wolfe”

Summary of storyHe wrote this story base on survival story.The story was start with a strong man was going to a

camp in Henderson Creek by using Yukon trail.trail is turned aside and the man got out from the trail. Yukon was very cold and the man became upset with

weather conditiongot a new partner(gray husky) when he made the first

fire.The ice was broken and the man felt down and

becoming wet.made a fire near the tree.

Remembered the old man advice ( don’t go alone)The snow felt and extinguished the fire.Man try to build a new fire but he failed .After that, he think

to kill the dog and use dog fur to warm his hand.Man body start freezing so, he became afraid and start

running to maintain his body temperature. He can’t move so he was freeze and died. The dog whined loudly when the man remained silent for a

while.Dog turned to camp direction.

Conflict.

1.External conflict:

Cold and Freezing weather.

He can’t make a fire (second

and third time).

Hungry.

1.Internal conflict:

he didn’t listen to old man

advice.

Conclusion

The man dies frozen and the dog ran searching for

fire in the camp.

What I learn from this story…

1-This story is about listen to people advice and have a

friend for a trip.

Be honest with yourself , don’t show off and don’t go

throw something beyond your capability.
