Hey

Tigers!!

Greetings! The 64th Annual

PNW District Convention a

couple of weeks ago was a

huge success and I hope that

each of you has recovered from

your Post-DCON Syndrome

without too much hardship.

First, I’d like to say that I’m

so honored and grateful to

serve you as the next Lieuten-

ant Governor of Division 35. My

main goal this year is to strengthen

the division by creating unity

within. I plan to work with

each of your clubs and

provide you with any re-

sources you need!

As we welcome the beginning of a new Key Club year, unfortunately that

means we must also say goodbye to our past board members. With that said, I

would like to say thank you

to Emerson, Wyatt, and

Olivia, all past Division 35

Lieutenant Governors and

members of the 2012-13

District Board. I wish you

the best of luck and I know

that each of you will have

fantastic futures.

This next year, I hope

to create lasting friendships

and memories to cherish

and look back on as we

celebrate at next year’s

DCON at the Seattle Con-

vention Center. Prepare yourselves for another unforgettable year, because I

know its going to be great!

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT

What is the ELIMINATE

Project?

The Eliminate Project is a joint project with

Kiwanis and UNICEF to internationally ter-

minate MNT.

What is MNT?

In 30 countries around the world, maternal

and neonatal tetanus (MNT) can quickly turn

the joy of childbirth into tragedy. MNT kills

one baby every nine minutes. Its effects are

excruciating– tiny newborns suffer repeated,

painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to

light and touch. There is little hope of surviv-

al. And tetanus kills mothers too.

Who suffers from mnt?

MNT is caused when tetanus spores, found

in soil everywhere, come into contact with

open cuts during childbirth. The disease

strikes the poorest of the poor, the geograph-

ically hard to reach and those without health

care.

$1.80 = enough to save a mother and

her newborn’s lives.

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT Do

your

part

EDUCATE yourself.

ADVOCATE to the world.

INVEST to save and

protect.

ELIMINATE maternal and

neonatal

tetanus.
