THROMBOSIS

WHAT IS THROMBOSIS?

Thrombosis is a kind of blood clot inside a blood vessel, obstructing the flow of blood through the circulatory system.

Thrombosis may occur in arteries or in veins.

TYPES OF THROMBOSIS

Venous thrombosisArterial thrombosis

There are two types of thrombosis:

Venous thrombosis:

A venous thrombosis is a blood clot that occurs within the vein.

It leads to congestion of the affected part of the body.

Arterial thrombosis:

A arterial thrombosis is a blood clot that occurs within the artery

It affects the blood supply and leads to damage of the tissue supplied by the artery
