This presentation deals with death
What is the ultimate interface?
is where we come together.
Tombstones are where we come together with the final.
In Jewish tradition we leave a stone ontop of a tombstone when we visit.
In Chinese tradition we bring food for the deceased to enjoy in the afterlife.
And we burn fake money and fake gadgets so that the deceased is not broke and bored in the afterlife.
And if the deceased liked to drink, we might pour whiskey on the grave. The departedwouldn't want to be soberin the afterlife.
But why can't A tombstonepour us a drink?
It could come witha whisky spigot.
Or if it's the last resting place of a wealthy relative or friend why can't there be a built-in ATM machine? We could make a withdrawal.
Or if you want to donate to a charity in the deceased's name, there could be a creditcard reader. Swipe your card, save a puppy.
How about outfitting a tombstone with arms?
It could give you five.
Or a hug.
Or slap some sense into you.
Or come with a psychoanalysts couch andhelp us to work out all those unresolved issues.
Woody Allenonce said“I don't want to achieve immortalitythrough my work.I want to achieve it through not dying.”
Amen, Woody. MeanwhileI will keep working on that whisky spigot.
