QTS QuikEnvision 2014—Track Descriptions (subject to change)
Keynote Sessions The Times—They are a-changin’! QTS President Neil Rosenberg will open this year’s Conference with his thoughts on the changing role of the CIO and IT Leadership in today’s increasingly Cloud-centric, self-service world, and guide us through “10 Steps to Keep IT Relevant in a Changing World.”
The NEW Microsoft—Microsoft’s Technology Roadmap and Vision in the Post-Ballmer World – A Microsoft executive will present on Microsoft’s strategy and direction under Satya Nadella’s new leadership, and how Microsoft will work with its customers to embrace and drive change in a rapidly evolving world.
11:10 am Breakout Sessions: Drive Down IT Cost Cloud-Enabled Licensing Models – A panel of industry licensing experts will discuss how the Cloud is changing the way we license software from Microsoft and other vendors (i.e., SHI, SoftwarOne, QTS, etc).
Drive Down Storage Costs – A panel of storage experts will discuss changing models for using storage for data and virtualization, for backup and for disaster recovery (Microsoft Azure, NetApp, CommVault).
21st Century Desktop – Traditional, Mobile VDI or Something Else? - A panel of Desktop engineering experts will discuss the pros and cons of the traditional managed desktop (or mobile laptop) versus desktop, application and presentation virtualization (Microsoft, Citrix, QTS).
12:00 Lunchtime Session: CIO Roundtable “Change—Just Ahead!” QTS Vice President Christine Bongard and a panel of mid-market CIOs will discuss common challenges including doing more with less, leveraging technology to create genuine business value, aligning with business leadership and embracing “Shadow IT.”
1:30pm Tracks Embrace the Cloud – Attend this session to hear about the various models of Cloud services explained. This will
include discussions on software, infrastructure and platform as a service, as well as identity, management and storage. Listen to how these solutions help you drive down costs and make IT more agile and responsive to your business. The Mobile Business— This session will address ways to enable your users to leverage mobility technologies, specifically Windows 8.1 on modern devices, through Direct Access, and how to strategically manage the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) movement. Managing mobile devices from Microsoft and other vendors will be discussed.
Do More with Less – Attend this session to review how to optimize use of internal staff, enhance the user experience and drive greater value from technology investments.
3:20pm Tracks Infrastructure Optimization – This session will explore how to drive down infrastructure costs, and leverage management tools to maximize uptime and IT department staff leverage.
New Productivity Models – Attend this session to explore how to leverage social networking tools to create employee engagement and drive information faster through your business. This session will also focus on how to drive employee collaboration and communication using the current Microsoft productivity tools.
Business Effectiveness – This session consists of two parts: helping you to understand how Microsoft’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution can launch your business into new levels of service, as well as how Microsoft’s Business Intelligence and Big Data tools drive better business decisions.
“From a strategic standpoint the QuikEnvision Conference is invaluable. Not only do I get an opportunity to see what is out there and how it is being used and working for others…. I get to see what new products and ideas may appear in the next year or two and how these new tools will be able to help my business going forward.”
David C. Stafford L.J. Gonzer Associates Inc.
“The two times that I have attended the event, I came away with a better understanding of where Microsoft’s technology is heading and an idea of how it can help in my company’s environment.”
Tony Montalvo Deer Stags Inc.
Dear Customer or Prospective Customer:
I hope you can join us for our 7th Annual QuikEnvision™ Technology Conference at the NEW Microsoft
NYC office on September 10th. This conference, targeted at CIOs and IT Decision Makers, represents a
great opportunity to learn more about how technologies from Microsoft and our other hardware and
software partners, as well as services from QTS and our Solutions Alliance services partners, can help you
achieve your IT goals and drive business value from technology. We hope this helps you with your 2015
strategic planning so you can get the most value out of your IT investments and get the most done with
your IT resources.
This year, we will focus on how the changing IT landscape (the Cloud, consumerization, mobility and
device changes) are increasing pressure on the IT organizations to be agile, flexible and responsive—or be
left behind! In the immortal words of Bob Dylan, The Times—They are a-changing’!
Our keynote presentations will be strategic in nature and help you understand Microsoft’s strategy,
direction and roadmap under the new direction and leadership of Satya Nadella, as well as provide ideas
and input on how to align IT with your business in these changing times. We’ll then drill down into more
detailed content around individual products and technologies, and you’ll see the technologies in action
through demos.
We are keeping the structure of last year’s event, which we feel had a good pace but allowed enough
break time for networking and Q&A, an important benefit of attending the conference. The opportunity
to talk to Microsoft experts and the QTS staff, and to network with our customers and other similarly
situated organizations, and share ideas and challenges, can offer great value to you.
I look forward to seeing you at our 7th annual conference, and to exploring how QTS can help you to meet
the changing needs of your business, while keeping relevant in this changing world.
