Introduccion In the ancient Rome,

people went to the

theatre to have fun.

The actors wore

masks.

The woman couldn’t

act in the plays.

Where is it?

It is in Mérida, Extramadura, Spain.

When was it build?• The Roman theatre of Mérida was built in

the years 16th and 15th BC.

Who build it?• The constructor of the theatre was the

consul Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa.

DescriptionThe theatre was used to watch plays.

It had 3 parts:

Semicircular grandstand:

The semicircular grandstand, had a capacity for

6,000 spectators.

DescriptionOrchestra:

It was paved with marble semicircular space

white and blue. It was between the grandstand

and the statge. It had got two parts:

Bisellia: Seating for guests of honor.

Euripus: designed to collect and channeling

water from grandstand.

DescriptionStage:

It was 7.5 m wide, 63

long and 17.5 in height.

It was formed by two

columns with bases of

marble, adorned with

sculptures.
