The quadrille

The quadrille is a peasant dance of

French origin, in fact its name derives

from the French '' quadrille ''. This dance

contains characteristics of many popular

dances from the period between 700

and 800. The dancers put themselves in

two rows arranged one in front of the

other. The quadrille is divided into five

phases called figurations, and is

prevalently played with folk instruments, usually accordion or organ.
