For the Campus Technology 2010 Executive Summit. I began with a composite video of clips from the folks in the URLs in the first slide. The Michael Wesch video is located at the specific URL. The MJSokes clips were from his demos and lessons for "Blackbird" and "I Saw Her Standing There." The Khan Academy clip was from the first lesson on the atom. The "Symphony of Science" clip was from the "We Are All Connected" video.

Emergent Questions

• How much have we really rethought? How much are we prepared to rethink?

• How can we understand the gift economy and harness its power for intrinsically motivated learning?

Emergent Questions

• How deeply do we understand the uncanny hybridity of our cultural moment? What does that hybridity make possible?

• How can we free our imaginations to create powerful and inspiring remixes out of an enormous and expanding archive of cultural materials?

Emergent Questions

• If the beauty is not in the atoms but in the way they’re put together, how can we foster the truly integrative learning that will yield that beauty for our students?

Digital Citizenship

“a successful publisher and consummate networker with an inventive curiosity” who “would have felt right at home in the information revolution” (Walter Isaacson).

Digital Citizens• write in words, sounds, and images, and

harness the power of data visualization. • understand that computers are not merely

devices, but indeed “tools for thought.”• know how to build integrative online

environments—a personal cyberinfrastructure—to support and share their own lifelong learning.

• imagine new possibilities for online collaboration and creativity.
