-from the Pea’s point of view-

There once was a Pea.

The Pea couldn’t wait to be picked!

I can’t wait to be picked!

He sat in the Garden with the sun shining down on his green skin and he waited

to be picked.

Finally one day it happened. He was sitting in the garden when a huge hand comes and plucks him right off the

plant. “I’ve been picked! I’ve been picked!” he shouted.

He was then taken to a room where a huge bed was with

lots and lots of mattresses.

Then he was put under the very last mattress and he was left there

to wait.

Suddenly he heard a noise. A Princess had walked into the room and started climbing up the tall ladder to

the top of the heap of mattresses.

The Princess laid on top of the bed and

stayed there for what seemed like forever.

Can’t breathe in here!

The little Pea grew tired of waiting and soon fell fast asleep.

Then the little Pea awoke to the rustle of covers and the thump, thump, thump, of feet

on the ladder.

The Queen knocked at the door and the little

Pea heard her say “How did you sleep”? Then she came in and the Princess replied:

“Oh terribly bad! I didn’t sleep a wink. I

must’ve been sleeping on some hard thing, I

ache all over this morning. It’s terrible!”

The Queen had excitement and

happiness in her voice.

Then all of a sudden…

…LIGHT!

The little Pea was taken out from

under the heap of mattresses.

The little Pea was taken out from

under the heap of mattresses.

As he was taken out from under the matresses he saw

the Queen’s smiling face.

As the Prince and Princess were kissing in the background the King exclaimed “You are a real

Princess! You shall marry my son!”

The Pea smiled because he knew he

had helped a lot.
