Companies are beginning to use Tin Can to do things that were never possible with older e-learning standards. We'd like to share the story of LifeWay with you, as an example of a company that's doing some very innovative things with Tin Can. LifeWay has the most sophisticated deployment of Tin Can that we know of. Ministry Grid, LifeWay's training delivery platform, is a massive application that gets the right piece of content, or the right experience, to the right member of their organization (employee or church member). LifeWay takes advantage of Tin Can's ability to comprehend any kind of learning activity, rather than just capturing traditional "completion" metrics. They use Tin Can as the core platform for capturing those activities across various systems including assessments, video, traditional content, and even eBooks and discussions amongst church members. LifeWay has also deployed a mobile version of Ministry Grid that uses Tin Can to effectively support disconnected, mobile content.
