Why this nickname? “Mange” means to eat; “tout “ means “all”. “ Mister-eat-it-all!

Michel Lotito, “ Monsieur Mangetout”

Record: The strangest diet…

Born in France, June 1950

The ability to eat 900 g. (2lb) of metal per day

Eating metal and glass since 1959

Entertainer since 1966

-

"I've eaten 18 bicycles, just as many television sets, supermarket

trolleys.“"I've even eaten a coffin! It was empty; no one was inside."

“ if my brain tells me to eat

something, my stomach allows me

to digest it.”

HOW? by grinding it up into a fine metal powder and sprinkling just a little bit on his toast every morning over a two-year span.

No ill-effects due to his diet

a stomach and intestine with walls of twice the expected thickness

bananas and hard-boiled eggs make him sick

Gastroenterologists: “his ability to consume 900 g (2 lb) of metal per day is "unique".

When performing he consumes around a kilogram of material daily, preceding it with mineral oil and drinking

considerable quantities of water during the 'meal'.

Doctors studied Mangetout for a long time

For as long the doctors know him he has never suffered from strange illnesses

His stomach is twice as thick as a normal stomach, this is why he’s able to digest these things.

It all started at the age of nine…

“ He gets sick like everybody else, the illnesses are not related to the fact that he can absorb metal" the doctor said.

The doctors concluded that his rare condition must have developed when he was still in his mother's womb.

It’s not just a hobby!

He gets paid to eat odd things, and earlier this year he made a guest appearance at the London Auto Show.

"I'm a pretty good cook," she says. "I make delicious meals that are well-prepared and well-balanced. Evening meals are sacred. When he chooses his menu outside of the house, then that is his business what he eats!!"

So…..why this record?

“The whole thing seemed so admirable to me: the patience, the dedication and--coolest of all--the ability to boast that you once ate an entire airplane.”

What about his wife?
