Patel, Director, ISTAR &former Vice-Chancellor, S.P University. Cema SaratogaUSA Group of Co. Furaat Rainwater Conservation,Envirocare Associates, Wockhardt limited, GujaratEnviro Protection and Infrastructure Limited,Environmental Engineer- Services, The GreenEnvironment Services Co-op. Society Ltd Vapi wastemanagement and effluent treatment company, T RAssociates, Siddhi Consultant, Poll Cont Associates,Precitech Laboratory, Jyoti Oh Chemical researchcenter, Kadam Environmental Consultants, EffluentChannel Project Limited, Paramount limited had cometo ISTAR to conduct campus interviews.All the interviews were conducted as per the scheduleprefixed by the department along with presentationsfollowed by written tests and personal interviews. Theselected students will receive annual initial packagevaries from one to another industry / consultancy /institute which ranges from Rs 1.5 lakh to 2.50 lakhapart from traveling and D.A and will resume theirduties by 15th May. Thirty eight who have attended, outof forty four students were selected during campusinterviews and remaining students will immigrate toUS, UK and European countries for higher studies. The course covers areas like water,industrial and air pollution monitoring and abatement,occupational health, hygiene and safety, monitoring andassessment of environmental degradation, EIA andlegislation, environmental microbiology, phyto-remediation, occupational toxicology, ecology andenvironmental biology & chemistry, biodiversity, remotesensing, natural hazards, computer applications,instrumentation and environmental biotechnology.Prof.B.G.Patel , Director stated that ISTAR has startedM.Sc programs in the year June,1999 , looking into theneed and demand of the society particularly in theindustrially developed “Golden Corridor of Gujarat”and other states of India in general. Torch rally at NadiadAs the ‘Swarnim Guajrat’ celebration heldover the year in entire the state cheerfully,the closing ceremony of the celebrationconducted with the cultural festivity. Thefestivity became memorable for the peopleof the town. Under this the municipalitymanaged kavvali programme of Salimsabari kavval at new gazivad while at theRabarivad musical programme ofOrchestra bhappi lovers was managed.Chief of the Maha Gujarat movementIndulal Yagnik and many other werememories with great respect and honourby salutes. The ‘Torch Rally’ started fromthe campus of Snatram Mandir and walked

on the way of the town. The rally was joinedby the Municipal staff and citizens. The

Ahmedabad based celebration was livetelecasted at the Ipcowala hall of the town.The late evening celebration started bylamp lighting conducted by the collector Dr.S.
