Knox Central High School, Revolutionary War Hall
A few months ago an effort began at Knox Central High School in Knox County, Kentucky to reach
back in time to return to the basics of American history. To dedicate a hall to the first American
army. The hall would be named “Revolution Hall.” A dedication service was held on the 9th of
November 2012.
A tour through this hall will reveal a pictorial remembrance of America’s birth and struggles thereof.
The essential requirements, and demands that were carried out to obtain America’s national
sovereignty, made who we are--Americans.
May America never lose sight of the sacrifices of those who have gone before us to the attainment of
Her sovereignty. On the justification of the Judeo-Christian ethos.
Woodrow Wilson said the following: “A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday,
does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do.”
The author of the above remarks was Don Root, a member of the Captain Charles Gatliff SAR
Chapter. Don, who originated the idea of “Revolution Hall,” spoke at the dedication ceremony. He is
a direct descendant of one of George Washington’s Life Guards. Don Root
The Knox Central High School JROTC Color Guard presents Colors at the dedication service
