The result

Is reduce, reuse and upcycle enough?

• Sustainable living is not all about the environment or is it?.

• Stop exploitation of disadvantaged people in all societies.

• Everyone has the right to earn a fair standard of living.

• Shouldn’t designers like you and I give craftsmen and women in disadvantaged societies a fair chance?

Hand-woven fabrics from other cultures.

What is wrong with these fabrics?

• They are durable• Colours are vibrant• Handmade• Cheap to produce compared to industrially

finished ones.• They are versatile and can be made into

anything modern and contemporary.

Thinking outside the box

• Local designers have been trying to change the end use of the products.

Letting the world go round.

• If designers in the West start using products from disadvantaged communities, they earn a living wage.

• No more Arab spring or civil unrests • Everybody is happy.
