description

A fisherman finds at the bottom of the sea a jug, from which a giant jumps out prepared to eat him. As the fisherman begs for his life, a donkey, a dog and a fox pass by. The fox agrees to foul the giant and send him back into the jug where he came from, in exchange with the fisherman's hens. He consents to feed the fox from his chickens, yet, when the time to be consistent comes, he pretends that he doesn't remember and hunts the fox in order to kill it. "There's no justice", says the fox.

Once upon a time there was a fisherman. He used to go fishing every

morning.

Μα, λα!

Oh, God! There is a turbulence.

Suddenly he saw a jug in the sea. He dived in the water and took the jug.

He put it in the boat and he sailed

at the beach. He started emptying

the jug.

Then a giant came out of the

jug.

- Παλαγηά κνπ, ηη ’ζαη ζπ, πώο ρώξεζεο εθεί;

The giant was very hungry and he wanted to

eat the fisherman. The fisherman begged the giant

not to eat him. He believed that it was not fair to eat

him since he had set him free from the jug.

A donkey was passing and they asked its opinion.

Was it fair the giant to eat the fisherman?

The donkey said that when it was

young, it used to be treated well, since it could

carry a lot of things. But when it got old, it

couldn’t work and his boss forced it to leave the

stable. Therefore, there isn’t justice in this life.

The giant started chasing the

fisherman in order to eat him.

A dog was passing by and the fisherman asked

it to tell them if it was fair the giant to eat him.

The old dog told them its story. When it was young

and strong it used to be a great guard in a farm with

sheep. Now it is old and cannot bark so loudly. So its

boss forced him to leave the farm. Therefore, there

isn’t justice in this life.

The giant tried again to eat the

fisherman.

Then a fox passed by and whistled to the fisherman

that she would help him save

his life, if he provided her food for her whole life.

The clever fox asked the giant to tell the story of his

life. The giant said that, when he was young, he used

to play with his cousin. One day, they were discussing

whether they could become spirits and go into the jug.

The giant was the first who had succeeded it, but when

he went into the jug his cousin threw the jug into the sea.

The clever fox told him

that she couldn’t believe

that he was able to

become a spirit and get

into a small jug. The

silly giant became a

spirit again and got into

the jug.

The fisherman quickly threw the

jug into the sea. The giant was in

prison again…

The fisherman thanked the fox and

went away.

Some years after, the fox was very hungry. She went to the fisherman and asked some chickens from him.

But he got so angry and tried to kill her, forgetting his promise.

The fox left quickly,

but she was certain that

there is no justice

in this life.
