A shape is an enclosed area. When a line crosses over itself, or with other lines, a shape is made.

Shapes are always 2-D.

Shapes can be either Geometric- circles, rectangles, squares, triangles, ovals… Organic- having natural, less well-defined edges, such as clouds, amoebas, fried eggs, or puddles

There are two types of texture:

Actual Texture is how an object truly feels (rough, smooth, bumpy, furry)

Visual Texture is when an artwork is made to appear to have texture.
