The road called June 16 marks a time in our history where the voice and action of black South African youth could be heard from all corners of the globe. On June 16th 1976, 200 000 youth activists marched in protest against Bantu education. An education system that forced learners to receive academic instruction that served to silence and dis-empower them. Today, the youth of South Africa spearhead the most powerful social campaigns, manage the most successful corporate, role models in their own right and living the legacy of fallen heroes. Let us remember them. We have put together a collection of publications by the 2014 Power of 50 as their first independent series of publications. They had to put together an issue commemorating this historic day. www.umuzi.org
