Canyon Layers
• Although the rocks may look the same, the canyon is made up of many different layers much like a cake.
• The next slide lists the different rocks in 2 sections of the canyon

Sand
• Just as there are different types of rocks, there are different types of sand particles. We will be discussing these particles as we go on.
SAND TYPES
• Dune – Frosted Particles
well sorted. Moved by wind
Mountain Stream – Sand close to source of origin. Many different sizes/grains
• Beach – Particles w/ rounded edges. Moved by water
