Team Help Our Heroes

Help Our Heroes collected money to send care

packages and letters to troops who are deployed in Kuwait and bases around

the world.

We worked to get

soldiers into the

iJAG classrooms

to talk about their experience

s in the military,

and how much it

means to them to receive

packages while they

are deployed.

A Change Drive was implemented

at Dubuque Hempstead High School with the help of the iJAG

classes.

$600 Dollars

was donated within

the first week.

Our $700 goal was met

in just 10

days.

We collected over

$900 to support

our troops all over

the world.

Thank you

dollars for our service project.

Help Our Heroes teamed up with the iJAG classes to write

letters and cards expressing their

thanks to our soldiers.

We are also recruiting local elementary and middle schools in the area to write monthly

letters too!

With the money collected we plan to send themed care

packages to a different troop every

month.

Nothing beats a “little taste of

home”

The non-profit we would like to support is the

Hemsptead iJAG Program

iJAG works with students at

risk of dropping out of

school and keeps them

engaged until graduation and gives support a

year after graduation as

well.Students work on employability skills, job survival skills, and other important skills, such as teamwork and leadership.

The money earned from the Super Service Challenge, will be

used to give them leadership opportunities they would not

normally get such as a leadership day at a local ropes

course, college visits, and teambuilding activities.

The money will also go

towards more service

projects that iJAG will do

such as adopting a family for Christmas, donating to

The Salvation Army, and

doing a random acts of kindness

day.
