Field Experience Criteria

How Many Hours?

Your regular teaching assignment counts as your Field Experience hours.

You are not required to complete any observational hours in another teacher’s classroom.

Associated Assignments

1. Field Experience Journal2. Lesson Plan on EPI Template3. Teaching Observation or Annual Performance

Review

Complete the entire Journal. There is no need to complete it in

conjunction with the start/end dates of online courses.

Journal available in EPI0940.

1. Field Experience Journal

Use word processing and proofread. Submit Journal with a soft report

cover (mail or drop off) by 4/30/16. Early submissions are welcome. Do NOT submit a hard bound 3 ring binder! Your

journal must fit in your student file.

Complete a lesson plan and

associated activity plan using the templates in EPI0940.

Submit them by 4/30/16.

2. Lesson Plan

Local to PSC?

M.L. Winter will observe you teaching the lesson plan. Sign-up schedule will be available in eLearning.

Not local? Option 1: Arrange for a teacher or administrator from

your school to observe you teaching the lesson plan. Option 2: Submit an Annual Performance Review or

Evaluation if one has been conducted this school year. NOTE: You must still submit a lesson plan!

3. Teaching Observation

Available from EPI0940 if:

Someone other than M.L. Winter is evaluating you.

You are NOT submitting an annual performance review but choosing to have a teaching observation conducted by a teacher or administrator from your school.

Observation Forms/Criteria

Due by end of term = 4/30/16. Early submissions are encouraged. The Journal and Teaching

Observation are state-mandated criteria for EPI completion.

4/30! Allow extra time for mail to arrive at PSC.
