TANYA LING

Born in Kolkata in 1966

Graduate in fashion design and textile in 1989 from

Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London

Education in London

Her first exhibition of drawings in Gavin Turk’s studio in London in 1996.

Vogue spotted her and she received first commission – the artist was born!

As Designer in Paris with Dorothee Bis and Christian Lacroix Her collection as designer

She started a contemporary art gallery with her husband William Ling in London in 2002.

In 2003 Vogue named her one of the most important trend-setters in Britain

The Observer Magazine announced her as their designer of the year.

Own ready-to-wear collection

Victoria & Albert Museum in London acquired her drawings in 2011

Creative director of Veryta

Her work derives from classical sources: Pop art, composers like Chopin and Mahler, writers Sylvia Plath and Daphne Du Maurier, and Hitchcock.

Also inspired from fellow artists Georgie Hopton, Gary Hume, John Currin, Peter Copping.
