Workshop 1: How to Write Matters: Help Students Master the Writing Processes: 2-2.5
hours
Writing is often an indicator of a student’s understandings at a particular time and is an
important way for students to learn content and generate ideas. This workshop explores
the research on adolescent writing and easy-to-use activities to support students in
applying the writing process in a variety of settings and purposes, building transferable
competence and precision to serve them in school and later in life.
Workshop 2: What to Write Matters: How to Embed Text Form Knowledge: 2-2.5 hours
Building on Workshop 3 of Tactical Teaching Reading this workshop provides teachers
with the tools to help students create effective texts for the purposes of the content area.
Activities support the development of student creation of texts around a clear purpose,
effectively organised and structured, and with precise and creative language features.
Workshop 3: When to Write Matters: Understanding Real World and Academic Writing:
2-2.5 hours
Students are engaged more than ever in writing for social purposes and it can be difficult
to adapt this writing for academic reasons . This workshop shows teachers how to help
students embed effective practices for school-world writing, improving
writing for learning and writing to demonstrate learning. Specific
activities address assessment questions, supporting students to maximise
opportunities to demonstrate what they know.

Facilitator Course: 3 Days
This very popular course is the most cost-effective and sustainable way of bringing
training to an entire school. Under a license agreement qualified Facilitators are in-house
experts who train your staff, support implementation and provide school wide support.

Over three days Facilitators learn how to deliver the Teacher Course, delve into all the
activities in the three workbooks including those not included in the Teacher Course, and
