4�Observe�initial�flashback�in��the�transparent�flash�chamber�indicating�successful�needle��tip�entry�into�the�vein.��Observe�second�flashback�along�the�catheter�indicating�proper�catheter�tip�entry�into�the�vein.

6�Release�the�tourniquet�then�with�the�non-dominant�hand,�apply�digital�pressure�to�the�push-off�tab�to�secure�the�hub.

�Remove�the�needle�cover�and�inspect�the�catheter�assembly.��Check�that�the�push-off�tab�is�in�an�upright�position�to�ensure�bevel�orientation�is�correct.

8�Dispose�of�the�shielded�inner�needle�component�immediately�into�an�appropriate�sharps�container�as�per�hospital�protocol.��Cap�cannula�with�IV�device,�flush�and�dress�the�site�as�per�hospital�protocol.

1�Using�aseptic�technique,�prepare�skin�of�the�puncture�site�as�per�hospital�protocol.

3�Grasping�the�finger�grip�area,�use�a�low�angle�approach�for�venous�access�and�insert�the�catheter�into�the�vein.

5�Maintaining�hold�on�the�finger�grip�area,�advance�the�catheter�forward�off�the�needle�into�the�vein.

7�With�the�dominant�hand,�grasp�the�finger�grip�area�and�pull�needle�in�a�straight�outward�motion�until�the�needle�tip�is�completely�shielded�by�the�safety�cover�and�automatically�detaches�from�the�hub.
